Jenny Knott - Office Manager
Jenny supports the engine of RAW Adventures in our small office base, just outside Llanberis. As well as taking on more responsibility for a wealth of business, sales and operations administration, Jenny loves meeting and greeting clients on the hill and accompanying larger events.
Jenny has lived in North Wales her whole life and is a fluent Welsh speaker. She has a passion for all things adventure and loves to be busy and active. Gymnastics, karate, climbing and walking are just some of the sports and activities Jenny has been involved in over the years.
For Simon, it’s all about the adventure. He is a very experienced and keen climber, mountaineer and skier, always seeking the perfect journey. Simon loves cold ice and deep powder as much as hot rock and holds the Mountaineering Instructor Certificate (MIC), Mountaineering Instructor Award (MIA), International Mountain Leader Award (IML), Single Pitch Climbing Award and Mountain Leader (Summer and Winter) Awards.
Simon works all over the UK but North Wales is always his favourite place to be (except when he’s in the Alps!)
Cat holds the Mountain Leader (Summer) Award and is working towards her Single Pitch Award and International Mountain Leader Award, she is also a Level 3 Canoe and Inland Kayak coach and keen sea kayaker. Cat primarily divides her time between summers in the UK and winters in the French Alps. Her work has taken her across the globe to Kenya, Borneo, Costa Rica, India, New Zealand and Malaysia.
Cat’s spare time is rare but is usually spent up a mountain or on the water exploring the many hidden gems Wales has to offer.
For the past two years Craig has lived in North Wales, immersing himself in the area and working/training at Plas y Brenin. He has also enjoyed working with the Outward Bound Trust in Hong Kong. He holds the Single Pitch Climbing and Mountain Leader (Summer) Awards and has worked on many National 3 Peaks and Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenges as well as personal guided mountain days.
Craig’s passion is climbing and alongside enjoying his mountaineering, he also has a thing for the kit that makes our lives so much easier in tough environments.
Rebecca holds the Mountaineering Instructor Award (MIA), Single Pitch Climbing Award and International and Winter Mountain Leader Awards. She is not only passionate about the outdoors but holds a PhD in Glaciology, so has the knowledge to match.
Climbing and mountaineering has taken her to all 7 continents and adventures have included making first ascents in South Georgia, Antarctica and travelling home from Nepal overland. Rebecca is keen to share her passion and knowledge of travel and adventure both in this country and further afield and she’s regularly planning the next trip away...
A qualified Summer Mountain Leader, Ian has a lifelong love of the dramatic scenery of the UK and abroad. In 2011 Ian saw the light and escaped a career in banking and the corporate rat-race to pursue his dream career of helping others explore the remote areas he loves so much.
He has since led groups on walking events all over the UK and has also participated in extended trekking expeditions in the Andes, High Atlas and Sierra Nevada ranges, as well as leading similar expeditions in Romania, Iceland and China. In 2017, Ian heads to Madagascar for the first time...
Tabitha Angle Smith
Tabitha has been living and working in North Wales since 2006, holding the Mountain Leader Award and the Single Pitch Award. Working as an Outdoor Education Teacher, as well as leading groups in the mountains, Tabitha has also led many overseas expeditions and has personally travelled extensively around Central and South America, Australia, New Zealand and South East Asia.
Tabitha spends most of her spare time on her bike, or walking and scrambling, running the trails or swimming in the lakes. She likes to take part in triathlons and, occasionally, the odd running race! Tabitha is often accompanied by her black labrador, Bailey.
Jason lives in North Wales, holds the Mountain Leader (Summer) Award and is working towards his Single Pitch climbing and Mountaineering Instructor qualifications. He has climbed all over the UK, enjoyed high altitude mountaineering in Nepal and Russia, summited Kilimanjaro, ice climbed in the Arctic Circle and been on numerous trips to the Alps to ski, climb and broaden his adventure experiences.
Jason is a member of Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue and is very keen to help people explore, in safety, the wonderful nature that is on offer in Snowdonia and beyond.
